What do “shelf life” and “PAO” mean?
Shelf life is how long an unopened product can be stored from its manufacturing date.
PAO means “Period After Opening” and tells you how long the product should be used after it has first been opened. You may see this shown on the packaging as an open-jar symbol containing a number followed by “M”:
- 6M: Use within 6 months of opening.
- 12M: Use within 12 months of opening.
The PAO begins when you first open the product, rather than on the delivery date.

The information printed on your individual product or packaging should always take priority.
Where can I find the manufacturing date or batch code?
The batch code and, on some products, the MFG date can be found on the product or its packaging. The position and format may vary depending on the product.
“MFG” means manufacturing date. It is the date the product was made and is not an expiry date.
If your product has an MFG date, you can calculate its unopened shelf life by adding the shelf-life period shown in the table above. For example, a product manufactured in March 2026 with a shelf life of 36 months has an unopened shelf life until March 2029.
Once the product is opened, please follow its PAO guidance.
How should I store my products?
Store all products in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture. Ensure lids and caps are closed securely after use.
Our Hydra-Gel Eye Patches do not need to be refrigerated, but you can keep them in the fridge for an enhanced cooling effect.
Should my product change over time?
No noticeable changes to the product are expected when it is stored and used as directed.
If you notice any unexpected difference in its colour, texture, scent, appearance or formula, please contact our Customer Service team so we can investigate. Include:
- Your order number
- The product name
- The batch code and MFG date, if shown
- Clear photographs of the product and packaging
- A description of the change you have noticed
Please report any concerns within 14 days of delivery.
My order arrived warm. Is it still safe to use?
A parcel arriving warm should not be a cause for concern. Our products are protected by their external packaging, and temporary warmth during delivery should not affect the formula.
However, if you notice any unexpected change to the product, please contact our Customer Service team within 14 days of delivery.
Can I travel with the products?
Yes, all our products are suitable for travel. Keep them securely closed and store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
For a lighter, more convenient haircare routine while travelling, we recommend our Mini Shampoo, Mini Conditioner and Mini Hair Mask.
Please check your airline’s current hand-luggage rules before travelling with liquids.
